The fruit for the 2012 CBSV was hand selected at the Omensetter Vineyard. The perfect 2012 vintage yielded excellent, full flavoured and balanced fruit, but minute quantities, producing a very limited parcel of 198 cases
‘The wine is about the perfumed nose; floral, sweet mint and cassis, with spicy notes of crushed caraway seeds, Earl Grey tea, and Dutch liquorice. On the palate the wine is smooth and rich with the sweet earthiness of roasted root vegetables, the acidity of rhubarb and the dark lusciousness of black currants. Still, the tannins are layered and finish dry, pulling the tongue in then releasing it keeping the wine feeling reserved and controlled.’ – Brad Hickey, Vinitor, August 2014.
