Brash Higgins 2019 ‘NYMPH’ Rose
Our third vintage of NYMPH is a cool, coppery blend of Cinsault and Carignan from young vines on the neighbouring Lennon Vineyard. Hand picked during a busy period in the winery, during an even busier 2019 vintage, all the fruit was pressed whole cluster together slowly back at HQ and fermented together. A spry, yet complex style of wine from Brash Higgins; one that’s well suited for year round drinking.
The painting on the 2018 Nymph label is by Sydney based artist Martine Emdur. Her engrossing, luminous, underwater work can be found at Nanda Hobbs Gallery in Sydney.
‘Touch misty, opalescent salmon in appearance. The wine is dry yet exudes nectarine, hybrid-tea rose, cinnamon apple and watermelon aromatics. Fresh notes of cut ginger, dried cherries and watermelon flow onto the palate with texture; a savoury, snappy sweet/sour peach finish pulls the wine together on the close; long finish follows.’ – Brad Hickey, Vinitor, November 15, 2019.
